II. Program Overview

This dual PhD degree program requires candidates to fulfill academic requirements at both universities, culminating in two independent doctoral degrees awarded by SJTU and Polimi.

Program Structure:

  • Duration: 4 years
  • Registration: Mandatory enrollment at both institutions
  • Mobility Requirements:
    • Minimum 2 years residency at the host university
    • At least 3 semesters physically present at the host institution
    • Research periods may alternate or be continuous between campuses, subject to supervisory approval

Academic Supervision:

  • Jointly developed Individual Research Plan by SJTU and Polimi supervisors
  • Mandatory alignment with both universities' doctoral regulations
