Nguyen Mai Chi has been deeply interested in Chinese culture since childhood. She taught herself Chinese and actively participated in numerous China-Vietnam cultural exchange activities. Understanding that language is the key to grasping a country's culture, she studied Chinese not only to enhance her language skills but also to gain a deeper understanding of China's history, philosophy, and social structure. Her research paper, 《Applying Mind Mapping Techniques in Chinese Vocabulary Learning for Chinese Non-Specialized Students》, published in the 《Journal of Military Foreign Language Studies》 under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, introduces an innovative teaching methodology. This work has been recognized by Vietnamese academics and serves as a valuable reference for Vietnamese students learning Chinese.
After entering Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nguyen Mai Chi quickly adapted to the academic environment in China and actively engaged in research in the field of business administration. She focuses on business innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development, particularly in the context of economic cooperation between Southeast Asia and China, where she has achieved significant research results. In her studies, she integrates theory with practice, conducting in-depth analyses of how enterprises can achieve innovation and sustainable development in a globalized context. She has also presented her research findings at multiple academic conferences.
In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Nguyen Mai Chi has also demonstrated exceptional talent and leadership in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2022, she collaborated with teams from China and other countries to develop Youji Life, a smart home gardening system. The project won the People's Choice Award at the UMO Design x Social Global Innovation Challenge and secured third place at the Vietnamese Youth Technopreneur Challenge 2023. These accolades not only highlight her expertise in technological innovation but also reflect her strong commitment to promoting social sustainability.
Nguyen Mai Chi also actively participated in the Tsinghua University Global Summer School and excelled in the Social Business Creation Competition. Under her leadership, her team won the Most Transformative Entrepreneurial Journey Award and ranked among the top seven globally. These competition experiences have not only strengthened her teamwork and leadership skills but also deepened her understanding and practical experience in social innovation and sustainable business models.
In the future, she hopes to continue to deepen the field of business innovation and sustainable development, especially in the framework of cooperation between China and Vietnam.
